Dakota is a 13 yr. old Golden/Newfie that I’ve had since she was only 7 weeks old. This picture was taken while on vacation in the RV. She loves to travel and is by myside at all times. Dakota recognizes my mood changes and If I start to drift, stare into space or become agitated she will give a gentle bark, place her paw on my knee or rest her head on my leg until I respond.
One of my biggest challenges is dealing with crowds but knowing Dakota has my back, always focused on my well being has helped me to engage in social gatherings with family and friends. I’m so grateful I have her love and support all day, every day and without judgement. Having PTSD has changed my life, having Dakota has saved it.
